Update on Hurricane Irene

Hi, everyone! I wanted to thank all of you for your prayers and good wishes. It means a lot to both Mr. Lifeguard and to me.

I just wanted to give you an update on Hurricane Irene. Last time I checked, she had shifted her course east & might miss Miami entirely. Now if she'd just head straight east into the ocean & leave everyone in the Caribbean, Gulf and East Coast alone, that would be sweet. Here are the two projections so you can see the difference:

BEFORE:

AFTER:

See the difference? Much better! So while Irene is being a little bit of an overachiever and ramping herself up into a Category 3 Hurricane {Can't she just chill and have a drink already!? Why do we women always have to go the extra mile!?}, she does seem to be heading more out to sea. It would be best if she just blew herself out into the Atlantic and didn't cause any more damage along the way.

At this point it looks like we will probably be able to have our normal USTREAM shows. I am sure HOPING we will have our normal show because I am NOT in the mood to pack up my stuff and head out of town. Although I did put gas in the car JUST IN CASE! Because, you know how this works. If I hadn't filled up the car, Irene would become a Category Five Hurricane headed straight for my apartment because that's just how the world works.

In other news, I have been working on a sample front cover of the pumpkin for you gals & it is looking pretty dark awesome! Just thought I'd give you a little teaser to keep you interested until Monday Night Football starts!

Like it? I made it myself! See how on Monday, September 12, 2011. ;D

Tropical Storm Irene & Thursday's USTREAM

Hi, everyone!

As many of you already know, I have a weekly USTREAM show. My USTREAM shows are every Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on my USTREAM Channel: Live on the {Scrap}Beach.

All times are Eastern USA {Miami/New York}. To convert to your time zone, click here: Time Zone Converter.

If you've been participating in this show for any length of time, you also know that it is extremely rare that I cancel these weekly shows. So rare, in fact, that my policy is that we are having a show unless I announce otherwise.

Well, just wanted to give you a head's up that there is a very slight possibility that we might have to cancel Thursday's USTREAM shows. Take a look at this:

Above is the current projections for the path of Tropical Storm Irene. Tropical Storm Irene is expected to become a Category One Hurricane & she is expected to make landfall as such about twenty miles south of Miami late Thursday night/early Friday morning. Assuming Irene stays a Tropical Storm or Category One Hurricane, we will likely still have our normal USTREAM shows since evacuation is unnecessary. I mean, I slept through our last Tropical Storm.

On the other hand, Hurricanes have a life of their own. They have been known to ignore weather projection maps & grow stronger than expected, so we'll be keeping an eye on things around here. Right now, there's no cause for alarm & the show is scheduled to air as normal. Keep checking back here for more information & cross your fingers that I don't have to cancel because I'm jumping in the car for my Father In-Law's house!

Pumpkin Albums for Sale!

Hi, everyone! We have been busy little bees cutting out hundreds of pumpkin albums for you. We're just about ready to start packing them up and shipping them out, so we decided to start taking orders. Pumpkins will begin shipping on Monday, August 22, 2011 in the order in which purchases are made.

Here's a picture of the pumpkin album:

The album measures approximately 8.5" x 9.5", so it's quite large. Each envelope will contain two negative shapes to help you trace and cut your patterned papers as shown above, two cover pieces {with stem} and four inside pages {no stem}. Patterned paper shown above not included.

I'll be decorating my pumpkins with the Bo Bunny "Forever Fall" collection during my Monday night USTREAM shows. That's right: Monday Night Football is back this year & so is my Monday night show for football widows! The first Monday night show of the regular season starts on Monday, September 12th at 9:30 PM Eastern USA time, so be sure to order your pumpkins soon!

NEW VIDEO: "Sunny Days" Mini Album

Hi, everyone! I am excited to announce that I have finished the "Sunny Days" childhood album & I am so happy with how it turned out! I have photos of some of the pages, as well as a video showing how all the interactive elements work.

This album primarily used papers and embellishments from the Pink Paislee "Hometown Summer" paper collection. I used an AccuCut die as the album base and cut it out of Grafix chipboard.

I worked on this album over the course of several USTREAM shows. I will provide links at the end of the post where you can view all the recordings of this album coming together.

Because of all the pockets, envelopes, boxes and other interactive elements, there is enough room for 100 3"x4.5" photos in this album, as well as tons of room to write a book's worth of journaling.

I'm so grateful that my mom took so many photos of us growing up. Even though it was not the norm during that era to take lots of everyday photos, she did & so I had several albums to look through to find pictures to represent the memories I had in my head.

You can view the video below or click here to check it out over on YouTube: Sunny Days Mini Album.

If you want to see how anything came together, here are the links to the USTREAM recordings to check out:
