Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

As I head off to a Memorial Day BBQ with Mr. Lifeguard and some friends of ours, I want to take a moment to thank him for his 22 years of military service and the sacrifices he made over that time.

I also want to thank ALL our soldiers AND their families (past and present) for their service and their sacrifices, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and peace.

Lovely Camera Straps!

Happy Friday!

I hope you all have fantastic weekend plans. I am actually heading to the beach with Mr. Lifeguard for a few days! I am really looking forward to getting away from it all and having some "sand therapy".

I was clicking around the Internet today and I found the CUTEST camera straps on the Bloom Theory website: Bloom Theory.

Here are three of my favorites, but there are lots of pretty ones:

You Are My Sunshine:

Petit Cheri:

Moonshine:

If you remember, I not too long ago successfully completed my search for an attractive but functional camera bag. Now I think I've found an equally adorable camera strap:

All About the Beaus:

Now I just need to let Mr. Lifeguard know what I want for my birthday!

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Happy National Scrapbook Day, everyone!

Today's special National Scrapbook Day USTREAM will be so much fun ~ I can't wait to get started! This is going to be such an exciting afternoon. :D

Not sure what I'm talking about? Well, as a special National Scrapbook Day celebration, I am teaching an online class this afternooon! The class will be starting at 3:00 PM Eastern USA time on my USTREAM channel. Don't worry if you can't make it live ~ the project will be recorded.

For those of you who are fans of Laura Denison of Following the Paper Trail, my show starts immediately following hers, so you won't miss anything.

Here is a picture of the project:

For more details on today's project, please check out this blog post: National Scrapbook Day USTREAM Class.

I will not be using the Kaiser Craft "Sweet Nothings" paper collection from the sample photo to build my box this afternoon. Instead, I have chosen to use papers and embellishments from the Pink Paislee "London Market" collection. They collection has lovely designs and Pink Paislee papers fold beautifully, which is important for a project like this one.

Thanks for stopping by & happy National Scrapbook Day! I hope that whatever you have planned today will be super fun.

Notes on this Saturday's Special NSD Class!

Hi, everyone!

This Saturday's National Scrapbook Day class should be an absolute blast. I can tell already by the number of instruction manuals we have mailed out that this is going to be a big, fun group to celebrate "our" holiday. :D

There were several inquiries from International users as to the exact size of the Michael's bags. They are 11.7 cm x 21.9 cm OR 4 5/8"x8 5/8" in size. It was also asked if the design would work with cardstock pages instead of paper bags. The answer to that is YES! This is the binding system that I modified for use in my teeny hardback book binding and tea folder binding, so you could follow those instructions to do it with cardstock instead of paper bags.

Not sure what I'm talking about? Well, as a special National Scrapbook Day celebration, I am teaching an online class this Saturday! In this class, you'll learn to create a unique box from scratch. This seemingly simple box transforms when the lid is removed into a gorgeous paper bag album. The class will be offered online Saturday, May 5th starting at 3:00 PM Eastern USA time on my USTREAM channel.

Holding 24 4"x6" photos easily (with room for even more), this box is made entirely from paper and chipboard. During the class, we will build and cover the box, as well as create the album binding system.

Here is a picture of the original class project:

As a special treat for this very requested class and for National Scrapbook Day, I have actually written up an instruction manual that includes a supply list and all the measurements and directions you will need to complete this project beautifully. This 28 page manual costs $12.49 and includes 38 color photos illustrating the steps needed to complete the album, as well as 24 color photos with examples of decorated pages and tags.

Within 24 hours of purchasing the manual, you will be sent an email with a PDF of the manual. If you have not received an email with a PDF and it has been more than 24 hours since you received confirmation from PayPal that your payment was made, please contact me.

To purchase your (very special limited edition National Scrapbook Day only) convertible album-in-a-box instruction manual, please click the PayPal button below:

P.S. I will also be demonstrating a special tool on Saturday invented by one of our very own USTREAM friends. This tool is GREAT for the project we'll be doing on Saturday & I can promise that you won't want to miss its exclusive world debut!
