February Classroom Schedule!

Can you believe it's almost February already!?!!! This year has just been zipping right along!

Since there are just a couple days left in January, I thought I'd post the February Classroom schedule.

Kathryn's Classroom

Beginning Thursday, January 2, 2014, I started broadcasting eight live paper crafting classes a month from my online classroom at www.kathrynscraps.com!

Classroom membership includes commercial-free live broadcasting, high quality videos and access to my video archives.

February Projects

We'll be starting with the "Sew Much Love" album. This album is great for a family or love album (without being too Valentine-y) or could house photos of your favorite sewing or quilting projects.

Once that project's all sewn up, we'll be starting our Locker Room project. The Locker Room project is extra nice because you get two classes - a sports version (pre-recorded) and a school version (live class).

Both versions will feature all kinds of amazing goodies from Prima! There will also be kits available for both versions, as well as chipboard albums available for purchase to follow along with your own supplies during the class!

February Schedule

For this year's Scrappybowl project, we will be making Valentine's Day cards and treat holders!

NEW YEAR, NEW PROJECT: Magnetic Modular Organizer

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful evening last night!

Thank you all so much for the support and encouragement you have provided me during 2013! I have loved our daily interactions and working on projects with you. I hope to see you all in the new classroom tomorrow for our first show of the new year!

Since memberships usually take about a day to approve, today is the last day to sign up for the classroom and be guaranteed to watch tomorrow.

I will continue to post about new projects, fun internet finds, and other goodies here, on Facebook and on YouTube in 2014.

New Year, New Projects

January's schedule is a little bit hectic due to the Craft and Hobby Association's Winter Conference and Trade Show (aka CHA). As usual, I will be tweeting from the floor with awesome photos of fabulous new finds!

We will be working on the Magnetic Modular Organizer starting tomorrow. Once that's finished we will switch to the Sew Much Love album project.

The Sew Much Love project is great for a family or love album (without being too Valentine-y) or could house photos of your favorite sewing or quilting projects. More details about the Sew Much Love project will be announced soon. There will also be kits and chipboard albums available for purchase to follow along during the class!

Organizer

Tomorrow we have a lot going on in the new classroom - giveaways AND the start of a brand new project for 2014: Magnetic Modular Organizer.

This folder holds everything you need to get organized in 2014!

Doing Project Life in 2014? Use the folder to organize your photos and cards!

Boxes are held inside the folder with super strong magnets!

The sample above uses the "New Year, New You" collection by Webster's Pages.

Giveaways

To be honest, we have so many giveaways to do, I'm really not sure how far we'll get on the organizer, but I'll do my best! :D

Yummy!

Kits

There is a kit available for the classroom version of the project, which uses Graphic 45's "Couture" collection:

These elegant papers will make a striking organizer!

We include everything you need to make the original folder configuration - magnets and all!

There's even a clipboard and some chip pieces to decorate your boxes!

The kit is available at two price points - member and non-member. Most future kits and manuals will be available with a similar format.

Member pricing is for customers who have already purchased memberships to the new classroom and do not need access, or for members who like to work from a manual alone and do not need live videos to complete a project. If you select this option, you will receive the kit and manual only and not classroom access.

Non-member pricing is for customers who do not have memberships to the new classroom, but would like it for this project. If you select this option, you will receive the kit and manual, temporary classroom access for the duration of this project and lifetime access to this project's video archives.

Manuals

There is a manual available for the Magnetic Modular Organizer project. The manual is available at two price points - member and non-member.

Member pricing includes the manual only and does not include classroom access.

Non-member pricing includes the manual, temporary classroom access for the duration of this project and lifetime access to this project's video archives.

Kits are ready to ship and manuals should be sent via email on of before January 2, 2014.

Happy New Year!

New Year's Day Menu Ideas

There are quite a few traditional holiday foods in the USA and around the world for ensuring you will have luck, prosperity, happiness and joy throughout the new year.

Here are some ideas for foods to eat, and recipes to cook to ensure you have a delicious meal, and maybe ensure you'll have a little extra cash in 2014.

New Year's Day Menu

Roast Pork with Rosemary and Garlic
Eat pork on New Year's day so that all year you'll live off the fat of the land. Pigs also represent the future because they always move forward - never back.
Avoid chicken or you'll spend 2014 scratching for food.

Wilted Cabbage Salad
Cabbage represents money - something we'd all appreciate a little more of in 2014! This salad has the bonus of also including bacon - more pork. :)

Salmon with Lentils and Mustard Herb Butter
Not a fan of pork and cabbage? Choose fish and lentils instead. Fish scales and lentils represent coins (prosperity), while fish swim in schools and represent abundance.

Enjoy!

GIVEAWAY: Last USTREAM Ever!

I have been doing live USTREAM broadcasts since August 2009. Over the years, I have recorded over 600 live paper crafting classes, chatted with memory keepers from all over the world and made some truly amazing friendships. It has been a wonderful experience, but today I will broadcast my final two USTREAM shows.

Goodbye, USTREAM

USTREAM has announced that beginning January 6, 2014, they will delete all videos older than 30 days from basic accounts (like mine). Because of this, Mr. Lifeguard and I had to find a new solution for archiving my hundreds of USTREAM videos.

Since so many viewers have also been struggling with USTREAM's quality control issues, we decided it was time to move away from their service and switch to professional, paid services for hosting our own live web broadcasts.

Hello, New Classroom!

Beginning Thursday, January 2, 2014, I will be broadcasting live from our new online classroom at www.kathrynscraps.com!

I am so excited to be bringing you commercial-free broadcasting, higher quality videos and fewer technical difficulties! With your membership to the online classroom, you not only get access to the video archives, but also continued access to my live web broadcasts.

That's 96 shows a year for just $5.00/month - that's less than $0.60 a show! Or pay just $50.00 for the whole year through December 31, 2013 - that's two months free!

Use the PayPal buttons below to subscribe to either yearly or monthly access, or click here to go to my shop:

Annual Subscription

Monthly Subscription

Once you have checked out through PayPal, you will be directed to the new classroom where you can create a user id and password. Memberships are typically approved within 24 hours of cleared payment.

Giveaways!

During today's two USTREAM broadcasts, we'll be giving away some sweet scrapbooking supplies. Join us live on my USTREAM channel from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern USA and then again from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM Eastern USA time.
