No USTREAM Tonight
Just a quick post to say that technology is not our friend tonight, so we won't be diing a USTREAM this evening. We will see if we can get something sorted out for tomorrow or another day, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, I have been posting photos to Twitter of some of the things I saw at the show, so I hope you enjoy them. I am looking forward to posting more photos tomorrow.
I am now @Kathryn_Scraps on Twitter! You can follow me here: http://twitter.com/Kathryn_Scraps. If you're not on Twitter, you can still access the page to see updates from the show.

Frosty Window Cover Supply List + PayPal Issues
Last week when I said the Frosty Window albums would start shipping on Monday, I totally forgot that it was a Federal Holiday and, therefore, no mail service. Needless to say, the albums did not start shipping yesterday due to the fact that the USPS was not working & I am unable to keep track of what day of the month it is. ;D
There were a few posts yesterday from people having trouble with PayPal. I'm sorry about that ~ I don't know why PayPal is working for some people and not for others. There are still albums available, so you should be able to purchase them. If you can't get a payment to go through after multiple tries with PayPal, please email me at thescrapbeach@gmail.com with the following info so we can work out an alternative:
1. First and Last Name
2. Email associated with your PayPal account
3. Country the album is shipping to
We have sold well over half the Frosty Window albums & I am so excited so many of you will be working along with me on this one. I actually couldn't wait until the Scrappy Bowl Party to get started, so I started testing some different ideas for the cover this weekend. This one was the winner:
I love it! We'll be making this cover from start to finish during the Scrappy Bowl Party, so here's what you'll need:
Sizzix/Tim Holtz Hardware Findings Bigz Die
Deco Art's Americana Acrylic Paint in Winter Blue
Deco Art's Americana Acrylic Paint in Neutral Grey
Plaid's Folk Art Crackle Medium
McGill Star Lily Punch
McGill Mini Petals Punch
McGill Starburst Punch
McGill Molding Mat
McGill Paper Tool Kit
Ranger Distress Embossing Powder in Black Soot
Ranger Distress Embossing Ink
Ranger Distress Ink in Iced Spruce
American Crafts Thickers in Sprinkles Font, White
Ranger Ice Stickles in Arctic Ice
White Cardstock
Blue Cardstock
Staz-On Cotton White Ink*
If you're not sure you want to play along with us because you don't have too many winter photos, you can always make a Sunny Window album. Just choose a different paper collection and swap out the snowflakes for roses or hybiscus & you're all set! There's no reason the windows have to be frosty ~ they can be sunny instead.
To purchase a Frosty Window album, check out this blog post: Frosty Window Albums.
Thanks so much for stopping by & see you Thursday!

*I didn't use this ink on the cover, but we will probably be using it inside the album on the acrylic pages.

Frosty Window Albums for Sale
My chipboard and acrylic order FINALLY came yesterday, so we will be busy little bees this weekend cutting out hundreds of Frosty Window albums for you. Since we're just about ready to start packing them up and shipping them out, we decided to start taking orders. Frosty Windows will begin shipping on Monday, January 16, 2012 in the order in which purchases are made.
Here's a picture of the frosty window album:
The album measures approximately 7.5" x 9.5", so it's quite large. You will receive four chipboard pieces and two acrylic pieces. The acrylic pieces appear blue in the photo above because of their protective coating, but they are clear.
Your envelope will also contain a negative shape of the album to help you trace and cut your patterned papers:
Price options below include album + shipping for USA and Canada. All other countries should choose "Album ONLY" and you will receive a second invoice for exact shipping charges to your location. If you purchase multiple albums, we will combine shipping and issue refunds for shipping overages when possible.
We'll be starting the Frosty Window album during the Scrappy Bowl Party and continuing with it during my regular Thursday USTREAM shows. I chose the Bo Bunny "Snowfall" papers and embellishments to decorate my album. I'll do another blog post soon with the supply list for the cover.

Card Photos from Thursday's USTREAM
In Thursday evening's USTREAM show we had lots of fun making three cards for Valentine's Day. One of the viwers asked if I could post some photos of the cards on my blog, so I am taking a break from cutting out Frosty Window albums to share them with you.
You're My Cup of Tea:
To make this card I sketched a teacup on some scrap paper and used it as a template to trace my paper. I used the Basic Grey Kissing Booth collection for the teaup & accented it with Krylon 18 KT. Gold leafing pen. I used twine from the Twinery for the steam curls.
Over the Moon In Love with You:
To make this one, I just kept layering the Basic Grey papers until it had the look I wanted. That cute heart border is the Martha Stewart Lace Heart edge punch. A stamped image from Close to My Heart's Mad About You set, a little bit of ribbon & it was done.
Kiss Kiss:
I started by embossing my card base with a folder from the Cuttlebug Love Is In the Air Embossing Folder set. After it was embossed, I rubbed it with white ink to bring out the design. I punched both sides of a strip of pink pearl paper with the Martha Stewart Lace Heart edge punch and Lattice Heart deep edge punch.
The USTREAM was recorded, so you can check it out here if you'd like to see how any of these cards were made: Valentine's Day Cards.
We have more Valentine themed shows coming up every Thursday this month from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on my UStream Channel: Live on the {Scrap}Beach!

Valentine Candy Box + Cameo Card
In this afternoon's USTREAM show, we made this candy box:
The box has a cute little drawer that opens to hold 20 Hershey's Kisses or a standard size card (or both!):
The USTREAM was recorded, so you can check it out here if you'd like to see how it is made: Valentine Candy Box.
Unfortunately, I was really tired when I wrote my notes for the dimensions down & so I gave several different sets throughout the show. Below, please find the complete dimensions for the box:
Drawer:
7" x 8" piece of cardstock, scored 1 1/4" from the edge on all four sides
Box Bottom:
5 3/4" x 8 1/4" piece of cardstock, scored 1 3/8" from edge on both short sides & one long side
Box Top:
5 7/8" x 8 3/8" cardstock, scored 1 3/8" from the edge on both short & one long side
To see the assembly, products used and other details, please check out the USTREAM recording by clicking here: Valentine Candy Box.
We have another Valentine themed show tonight from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. We will continue with Valentine projects during the regular USTREAM shows on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on my UStream Channel: Live on the {Scrap}Beach!

Thursday's USTREAM: Valentine's Day Projects
This year I've decided to stick pretty close to a color palette of white, pink and kraft. Red will probably make an appearance, but only sparingly. I wanted my projects to have a softer look this year, so I tried to steer away from the more traditional red and pink color combo.
Working with that idea, I gathered together white and kraft cardstock for my card and project bases. To add some interest and some low-maintenance shimmer and shine, I also chose some Core'dinations Pearls paper in Baby Pink & some glitter paper from Paper Accents in white, green and a variety of pinks.
For my patterned paper, I have chosen the Echo Park Yours Truly collection:
Since most of my Valentine's Day projects will be smaller in scale, I wanted a paper with nice, tight patterns. I think with these papers that you will still be able to see the pattern even in small pieces.
As for tools, I have a project that heavily features the Sizzix Bigz Die Flowers, 3D.
If you don't have this particular Sizzix die, but you do have another rolled rose die, that will work just fine. You can even make your own rolled roses from circle dies and punches.
Also in the die department, I'll be using the Spellbinders Classic Heart nesting dies and Classic Scalloped Heart nesting dies.
If you don't have these particular heart dies, but you do have other nesting heart dies, templates or punches, you should be all set.
While I was at Michael's the other day, I grabbed the Martha Stewart Crafts Lace Scallop Heart craft punch and the Lattice Heart deep edge punch.
These are older punches, so you may already have them. The two just seemed made for each other when I saw them hanging on the rack. Plus, they were on clearance, so that made them even cuter. ;D
Of course, I'll also be using a variety of stamps and embossing folders since I love to add images and texture to my projects. Both white ink and white embossing powders will be making appearances as well & probably a dozen other things I haven't even thought of yet.
So, just go through your papers, your cardstock, your stamps, your punches & your dies and gather together the things you thinks would look good on Valentine projects.
The first Valentine themed shows air this Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on my UStream Channel: Live on the {Scrap}Beach!
All times are Eastern USA {Miami/New York}. To convert to your time zone, click here: Time Zone Converter.
This week I'll be focusing on cards so you can get a head start on the holiday. Coming up throughout January, we'll have treat bags, candy boxes and a bunch of other goodies.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to see you there!
