Update on Hurricane Irene

Hi, everyone! I wanted to thank all of you for your prayers and good wishes. It means a lot to both Mr. Lifeguard and to me.

I just wanted to give you an update on Hurricane Irene. Last time I checked, she had shifted her course east & might miss Miami entirely. Now if she'd just head straight east into the ocean & leave everyone in the Caribbean, Gulf and East Coast alone, that would be sweet. Here are the two projections so you can see the difference:

BEFORE:

AFTER:

See the difference? Much better! So while Irene is being a little bit of an overachiever and ramping herself up into a Category 3 Hurricane {Can't she just chill and have a drink already!? Why do we women always have to go the extra mile!?}, she does seem to be heading more out to sea. It would be best if she just blew herself out into the Atlantic and didn't cause any more damage along the way.

At this point it looks like we will probably be able to have our normal USTREAM shows. I am sure HOPING we will have our normal show because I am NOT in the mood to pack up my stuff and head out of town. Although I did put gas in the car JUST IN CASE! Because, you know how this works. If I hadn't filled up the car, Irene would become a Category Five Hurricane headed straight for my apartment because that's just how the world works.

In other news, I have been working on a sample front cover of the pumpkin for you gals & it is looking pretty dark awesome! Just thought I'd give you a little teaser to keep you interested until Monday Night Football starts!

Like it? I made it myself! See how on Monday, September 12, 2011. ;D

  4. I'm praying Irene leaves you all alone... Can't wait for Monday Night Football, for 2 reasons: Ustream & Football = things are always so much more complicated for me (going the extra mile..LOL)
    Thanks for the funnies.

  9. You don't have to bring in a hurricane to get out of the Thursday UStream. Just say no UStream on Thursday! Now look at all the people that have been inconvenienced :) Can't Mr Lifeguard duck tape you to your chair and gas up the generator to go on with the program? :)
It's another reason for you to move to California. We don't get the yearly tornados, blizzards, hurricanes..... We will get one big A** Earthquake and be done with it. You won't drown because LG is with you and you may end up with beach front property. :)
    Be safe and stay dry.

  10. I'm mixing Irene a nice but strong Margarita because she obviously needs a little down time and a new direction in life :-D
Thinking about you and sending good thoughts.

  12. Ok...I'm new here but I've bought the Pumpkin Album and have most of my paper. The shop by me did not have the Paper Pack, only the 6x6 and individual papers. I thought I bought enough...but I have to go back for a couple of more. Is there one of your UStream classes that tells us how to prep...??? I live on the west coast and I'm at work durning your classes and have to load them to watch and it takes forever. Any help will be appreciated with my first attempt at a Mini. Thanks...Tina

  13. Hi, Tina!

I talked about the Pumpkin & the supplies I've gathered so far a lot at the end of this video: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/17008163.

I also showed how to put together a sunflower from the punches so you can see how you could maybe fake it with stuff you have at home at the end of this video: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/17014209.

You don't need to do anything to the pumpkins ahead of time, but in terms of paper, you will need twelve of the 12"x12" papers just to cover the pumpkins (since the pumpkins are so large), so you will want to have at least another six or so on hand for the decorating, envelopes, pockets, making flowers, etc., etc. You'll also be able to use the 6"x6" you already have for some photo mats and such, I imagine.

Some ribbons, some glimmer mist, stuff like that. I talk about a lot of stuff in the video, including stamp sets.

I haven't gone through my supplies and gathered everything I am going to use yet, but if I get to that before the 12th, I will do a YouTube video on it.

    Hope that helps!
