Thursday's USTREAM: Valentine's Day Projects

Hi, everyone! I just wanted to quickly post about some of the projects we'll be working on & the supplies I'll be using in my upcoming Valentine USTREAM shows. Not all of these papers and tools will be used this Thursday, but they will be making appearances during the remaining January shows as we work on our Valentine projects. Try to look in your art room as see what you have that might be similar enough to this list that you don't have to do too much shopping. You'll want to save your money for candy! :D

This year I've decided to stick pretty close to a color palette of white, pink and kraft. Red will probably make an appearance, but only sparingly. I wanted my projects to have a softer look this year, so I tried to steer away from the more traditional red and pink color combo.

Working with that idea, I gathered together white and kraft cardstock for my card and project bases. To add some interest and some low-maintenance shimmer and shine, I also chose some Core'dinations Pearls paper in Baby Pink & some glitter paper from Paper Accents in white, green and a variety of pinks.

For my patterned paper, I have chosen the Echo Park Yours Truly collection:

Since most of my Valentine's Day projects will be smaller in scale, I wanted a paper with nice, tight patterns. I think with these papers that you will still be able to see the pattern even in small pieces.

As for tools, I have a project that heavily features the Sizzix Bigz Die Flowers, 3D.

If you don't have this particular Sizzix die, but you do have another rolled rose die, that will work just fine. You can even make your own rolled roses from circle dies and punches.

Also in the die department, I'll be using the Spellbinders Classic Heart nesting dies and Classic Scalloped Heart nesting dies.

If you don't have these particular heart dies, but you do have other nesting heart dies, templates or punches, you should be all set.

While I was at Michael's the other day, I grabbed the Martha Stewart Crafts Lace Scallop Heart craft punch and the Lattice Heart deep edge punch.

These are older punches, so you may already have them. The two just seemed made for each other when I saw them hanging on the rack. Plus, they were on clearance, so that made them even cuter. ;D

Of course, I'll also be using a variety of stamps and embossing folders since I love to add images and texture to my projects. Both white ink and white embossing powders will be making appearances as well & probably a dozen other things I haven't even thought of yet.

So, just go through your papers, your cardstock, your stamps, your punches & your dies and gather together the things you thinks would look good on Valentine projects.

The first Valentine themed shows air this Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on my UStream Channel: Live on the {Scrap}Beach!

All times are Eastern USA {Miami/New York}. To convert to your time zone, click here: Time Zone Converter.

This week I'll be focusing on cards so you can get a head start on the holiday. Coming up throughout January, we'll have treat bags, candy boxes and a bunch of other goodies.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to see you there!
