NEW VIDEO: "Amazing Washi Bike", 12"x12" Layout

I spent yesterday afternoon making a layout. I had some paper and embellishments from the My Mind's Eye "Sweetest Thing" collection that I wanted to do something with.

I had a photo of Carol from Scrapadabadoo standing in the My Mind's Eye booth at CHA. They had an amazing washi-covered bike on display in their booth and she is posing with it in the photo. I thought is was a perfect photo to go with these papers.

I stamped the doilies from the collection in StazOn "Cotton White" ink on some leftover product packaging and cut it out. There are three areas of embellishment on the layout centered around these three doilies.

Quick Tip: The StazOn Cotton White ink pad comes with a reinker. The pad dries out very quickly, so for best results reink before each use.

Each area of embellishment also has a wood veneer heart from Studio Calico, five wood veneer hearts from Studio Calico, three gems from Recollections and some letters from My Little Shoebox.

These three clusters also have a piece of my homemade washi tape, and a piece of pink and white chevron paper. This ties the three main colors of the layout together - pink, yellow and aqua.

The title was done with Thickers from American Crafts in the Amy Tangerine "Goodness" font (white print) and Jewelry Box font (bubblegum).

I filmed this layout coming together for my YouTube channel. You can watch the video below, or click this link to watch it over on YouTube: Amazing Washi Bike.

Thanks for watching and have a GREAT day!

    1. Thank you & you're very welcome! Outlining letters with a marker it's a quick and easy way to give them more "pop" after they've already been glued down.

  3. The cellophane stamping - brilliant! I had never thought of that before. Ya think CTMH white would work? I think not, but may try it later. Thanks for the inspiration :)

    1. I don't think pigment inks like the CTMH "White Daisy" will dry on non-porous surfaces like the plastic bag I used here, but if you do try it, let me know how it works out!
