Are you having fun with Layout Week 2013 so far?
I hope so, because I have a new layout and video to share with you today!
This one features goodies from the Crate Paper The Pier collection.
For today's layout, I created this sketch which is perfect for combining horizontal and vertical photos:
Here are some photos of the finished layout:
There are a lot of bright photos in the background paper and the photos, so I used kraft cardstock and more neutral patterns in between to create some breathing room. |
The ephemera pack for The Pier collection has some really fun goodies in it with gold accents and bright colors. Love those gold polka dot Thickers from the collection, too! |
Layering embellishments together adds depth and texture to your page - especially if those elements have different finishes. Here we have paper, stitching and glitter. |
I made these stars myself from Martha Stewart's Crafter's Clay. On this layout they look good enough to eat! They're also super strong and light as a feather. |
I filmed this layout coming together for my YouTube channel. You can watch the video below, or click this link to watch it over on YouTube: Kermit's Key Lime Pie.
Today's Day Four of our big Layout Week 2013 celebration, and there will be a new challenge every day! Today's challenge is to use the above sketch to create a new, never before seen layout. Once you've finished it, post it below in the linking system so we can all see and admire your work!

So Cute Kathryn! I really like this layout a lot. At first I thought the MS molds were lame but I LOVE what you did with them. And those polka dot thickers! Just great! Your work is just awesome!
ReplyDeleteI don't love all her molds, but she does have some cute ones like these stars! Plus, you can use this clay with any silicone molds on the market & there are tons of cool ones online.
DeleteI think what I like best is that all week with every layout you have told us a story. The pictures of you two are wonderful. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judy! We had a lot of fun on that trip to Key West!
DeleteI am loving all these layouts. You really inspire me to try 12x12's - only problem is - I never take pictures!!
ReplyDeleteIf you keep your camera in your purse or pocket and just make it a habit to take one photo a day, it will become more natural. It's fun to take pictures and have those memories.
Deletecute! and..the pie..is making me hungry.
ReplyDeleteThe pie is making me hungry, too & I'm not even the world's biggest fan of Key Lime Pie. ;)
DeleteHaving a blast watching this week! Thank you sssooooo much! Linda Myers, Portland, Maine
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome, Linda! :D I had a blast, too!
