TGIF + New Video!

Hi, everyone! Welcome back to Life on the {Scrap}beach! I hope you have lots of fun stuff planned for this weekend!

I just uploaded Part Two of my "29 Years of Love" layout over on my YouTube Channel. I hope you enjoy the video!

This is a 12"x24" 2-Page Layout I did about my teddy bear. His name is "Teddy" or "Mr. Teddy" if you're feeling formal {I know you are blown away by the creative genius with which I selected those names}. The paper comes from the K&Company "Cut 'N Paste" collection and it uses lots of chipboard, ink, glitter and Aleene's Paper Glaze.

Thanks again everyone for watching my videos and visiting my blog ~ have a great weekend!

  4. Very nice layout, Kathryn. I, too, have a b&w pic of me holding my teddy bear when I was a little girl. I loved that bear, mine was named Tim, he was royal blue, missing one eye, and with lipstick on his snout. Would you believe that survived to another generation? When my niece was a little girl she found it among my stuff and adopted it! She's 36 now and still remembers good ol' Tim!

Btw, I loved that method of embossing frames. You know that never even occurred to me. I love the effect and I'll do that from now on. As always, you're a source of great ides! Thanks!

  5. Thanks, everyone! I'm so glad you enjoyed the layout and getting a peek at my teddy bear! :D I haven't told him his is an internet star yet because I'm not sure he wouldn't try to smother me in my sleep. He's gotten crotchety in his old age!

Liz, embossing powder is a nice way to change the color of chipboard. I have used embossing powder on AC Thickers as well {the chipboard ones} when I had all the letters I needed for a project in the right font, but different colors from different packs. A coat or two of embossing powder made them all the same color & the coverage is better and quicker than paint.

It was nice to hear about Tim! How wonderful that he was able to be loved for multiple generations. :D I have always replaced Teddy's eyes when they fell off, so he would definitely be eyeless lik Tim by now if it weren't for that. I have no idea what set of eyes Teddy is on at this point.

    Thanks for watching!
