Hi, everyone! Welcome back to Life on the {Scrap} Beach!
I am about to start work on an Asian-themed mini album. Right now I'm in the "supply gathering" phase. {Which is really the best phase of any project, isn't it?} I personally don't have much in the way of Asian themed papers and embellishments, so I am going to pick up the Far East stack from DCWV. I also found a couple of the Inkadinkado Asian stamp sets on sale & there are some good images in there.
I'd like to get a few more things. Some more stamps, definitely, so I can vary the images. I know I've seen lots of charms with Asian images at Michael's, so I'll definitely need to go there and check those out more carefully. I also have some fun little Mah Jong tiles in my stash that will be great as accents in the album, but other than that I am kind of stumped on where to even look for supplies. I know there's got to be some super awesome site online with all kinds of great Asian stamps an embellishments & I'm hoping one of you guys knows the URL! :D
So, do any of you have any good resources for Asian-themed stuff? I'd really appreciate your ideas!

I think I saw the Cricut cartridge Pagoda with the group they marked down at Michaels. They were on a stand up front at my store.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the Pagoda cartridge also! I would also check out http://www.franticstamper.com/kodomo-stamps.htm
ReplyDeleteThey have some great Asian themed stamps!
Hi, Marthe! Thanks for the idea. There are cherry blossoms on the second set of Inkadinkado stamps, so I am going to be able to include those. :D
ReplyDeleteHi, Susan! Thanks for the idea about checking for that Cricut cartridge at Michael's. I'll have to take a look at the images.
Hi, Amy, I'm off to check out those stamps ~ thanks for the idea!
I am still curious to hear of any good places for stamps, charms, whatever!

I don't know if you have a Tuesday morning near you, but I picked an Asian themed foam backed rubber stamp set made by inka dinka doo for $1.99 there awhile back. I didn't really notice a lot of other Asian themed supplies there. I also ordered some asian printed rice paper from Etsy at one time.
ReplyDeleteHey Kathryn - I recently ordered paper from Basic Grey's "Kioshi" line...loving the colors they put together...I've got some crazy-thin wonderfully decorative asian-esque paper I've been hoarding - seriously - for YEARS. Would be happy to share if you wanted a few sheets! Will try and remember to upload a photo when I'm home from barftastic work tonight! Cheers, Erin
ReplyDeleteHey Kathryn!! i found this site a while back....i have never ordered from them but they seem to have a lot of stuff! http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/asia.html
ReplyDeleteHere is a link to some images on etsy from one of my fav sellers! I have some of these from a collage pack I got from her. http://www.etsy.com/search_results_shop.php?search_query=asian&search_type=user_shop_ttt_id_46139
ReplyDeleteHi Kathryn, Judikins.com has some great Asian/Japanese images (woodmounted tho...) from about p. 62 forward in her online catalogue. She also has some newer Geisha-like doll images in the online newer catalogue. Skybluepink has genuine joss paper packs and some Asian coin charms for sale at great prices. I use them all the time. I used to belong to a MB whichfavored Asian stamped images and so I was part of that scene and I have lots of stamps to prove it! I also have a great source out here ( I do some Origami) for Washi papers. If you are interested, I will put together a paper pack for you...these are small but make great BGs and tags and accents.
