Hi, everyone!
This Saturday's National Scrapbook Day class should be an absolute blast. I can tell already by the number of instruction manuals we have mailed out that this is going to be a big, fun group to celebrate "our" holiday. :D
There were several inquiries from International users as to the exact size of the Michael's bags. They are 11.7 cm x 21.9 cm OR 4 5/8"x8 5/8" in size. It was also asked if the design would work with cardstock pages instead of paper bags. The answer to that is YES! This is the binding system that I modified for use in my teeny hardback book binding and tea folder binding, so you could follow those instructions to do it with cardstock instead of paper bags.
Not sure what I'm talking about? Well, as a special National Scrapbook Day celebration, I am teaching an online class this Saturday! In this class, you'll learn to create a unique box from scratch. This seemingly simple box transforms when the lid is removed into a gorgeous paper bag album. The class will be offered online Saturday, May 5th starting at 3:00 PM Eastern USA time on my USTREAM channel.
Holding 24 4"x6" photos easily (with room for even more), this box is made entirely from paper and chipboard. During the class, we will build and cover the box, as well as create the album binding system.
Here is a picture of the original class project:
As a special treat for this very requested class and for National Scrapbook Day, I have actually written up an instruction manual that includes a supply list and all the measurements and directions you will need to complete this project beautifully. This 28 page manual costs $12.49 and includes 38 color photos illustrating the steps needed to complete the album, as well as 24 color photos with examples of decorated pages and tags.
Within 24 hours of purchasing the manual, you will be sent an email with a PDF of the manual. If you have not received an email with a PDF and it has been more than 24 hours since you received confirmation from PayPal that your payment was made, please contact me.

I will not be using the Kaiser Craft "Sweet Nothings" paper collection from the sample to build my box this Saturday. Instead, I have chosen to use papers and embellishments from the Pink Paislee "London Market" collection to build this Saturday's box.
Just as a reminder, due to this special class on Saturday, there will be no regularly scheduled USTREAM broadcasts on my channel this Thursday. Normally, I am live every Thursday from my USTREAM channel from 2:00 PM Eastern USA to 4:00 PM, and again from 9:00 PM Eastern USA to 11:00 PM Eastern USA. I hope you'll be able to join us!
Thanks for stopping by & I hope to see you on National Scrapbook Day!
~Kathryn :D
P.S. I will also be demonstrating a special tool on Saturday invented by one of our very own USTREAM friends. This tool is GREAT for the project we'll be doing on Saturday & I can promise that you won't want to miss its exclusive world debut!
