Hi, everyone! I have a new mini album series starting today! This past weekend I finished a masculine-themed album I had started with the Bo Bunny "Timepiece" collection for some Father's Day inspiration. The entire album is finished, all the video has been filmed & I will post the videos to YouTube as I get done with the editing. I hope you enjoy seeing this album come together. I know it's a little different from what I've been doing {not a flower in sight} but I loved the change of pace.
I uploaded the first video of the album over on my YouTube Channel. You can view the video over on YouTube by following this link, or in the player below: "World's Best Dad" Album, Part One.
Thanks so much for watching! I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

New Video: Flora & Fauna Bag #1 w/ Pictures
Hi, everyone! At the April 2011 Virtual Crop on The Beach, I decorated just one bag of my paper bag album based on Kathy Orta's design. That's not a whole lot of progress, but what I did do sure looks pretty {well, I thought so, anyway}!
I said I would come back and show the bag again with pictures in it, so you could get an idea of the "before" and "after" of my minis, so this weekend I uploaded a video of the first bag complete with pictures over on my YouTube Channel. You can view the video over on YouTube by following this link, or in the player below: Flora & Fauna Bag #1 w/ Pictures.
To see the first bag coming together, check out these UStream recordings from the crop:
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four
Part Five {includes binding instructions}
I'll be decorating the second bag during my segment of the May 2011 National Scrapbook Day UStream Hop I am participating in on Saturday, May 7th. For the schedule, links and other details, click here: NSD UStream Hop Info.
After National Scrapbook Day, I will continue with the "Family Circus" album during my regular UStreams {almost done!} and then pick back up with this paper bag album. I'll post another YouTube video update with the pictures in the National Scrapbook Day bag and the schedule for the following bags.
Thanks so much for watching! I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend!

Kathryn Scraps
Hi, everyone!
I have been working on a new website where you could easily get to my YouTube, my blog, the Beach, UStream, etc., from one place. I am hoping this will make it a lot easier to find me on the web since for some reason I made every single one of my user ids different when I signed up for these different sites! So today I am introducing Kathryn Scraps. I hope you enjoy it & that it makes life a little bit easier for you. I know it will make life easier for me since I now have just one web address to give people. :D
I also have a new video over on my YouTube channel that I made while I was shopping with JIL {stampyra} and Kathy {vayianosk} during our Orlando vacation. You can check it out on YouTube by clicking this link, or just watch below: Shopping with JIL.
Mr. Lifeguard had a great time for his 40th birthday, and we took plenty of pics and videos that I will be sharing with all of you soon. Enjoy the video & have a GREAT week!

Meeting New Friends!
So, it's a beautiful Monday for Mr. Lifeguard and me! We're off to Orlando for a week to celebrate his 40th birthday. If we're really lucky, before we return home those knuckleheads on Capitol Hill will have worked out a way for Mr. Lifeguard to continue to get paid past Friday. Fingers crossed!
Anywho, on our way to Orlando today, we are going to be stopping at Everything Scrapbooks & Stamps in Lake Worth, FL. I am going to meet up with Eileen and Elaine at the store to cause some mischief! Lucky for me, Mr. Lifeguard will be standing by with a getaway vehicle.
In honor of this momentous occasion, I have made some tags! The tags are pretty much the same, and they look like this:
I used the Bo Bunny "Gabrielle" paper collection to decorate the tags & I have so much fun playing with those papers! It's a great color combo and I love all the prints in the collection. I put the tags together during an impromptu UStream session Friday afternoon. If you missed it, you can see the recording here: "Friends" tags.
Have a great week! I'll be back soon to tell you all about my trip. :D Just a reminder that there will not be a UStream show on Thursday, April 14th. I'll be back to my regularly scheduled program on April 21st.

Going to Visit Mickey & Minnie!
Happy Saturday! I hope you all have lots of fun stuff planned for this weekend. :D
On Monday we are headed to Orlando for a week to celebrate Mr. Lifeguard's 40th birthday, so there will not be a UStream show on Thursday, April 14th. I'll be back to my regularly scheduled program on April 21st!
We are going to be checking out the flower festival at Epcot, as well as spending a day at Universal Studios. Mr. Lifeguard loves Harry Potter, and I know he has been really excited to see the new Harry Potter rides and exhibits. For his birthday present, we are going to see Cirque du Soleil's "La Nouba" and have a nice dinner out. While we're in Orlando, we're also going to hit Animal Kingdom and Hollywood studios.
Plus, we're going to get to see some friends of ours from Virginia who just happen to be there the same exact week we are! Cool, huh? I'm also going to get to meet some of the West Palm Beach and Orlando peeps from YouTube & UStream next week, so I am really excited about that, too! It's going to be a great week for both of us. :D
During last Thursday's UStream, I finished another page in the "Family Circus" mini album:
It took two UStreams to get this page done, but I am really happy with how it turned out. To see it coming together, you can check out the UStream recordings here:
Three-pocket page, Part One
Three-pocket page, Part Two
There are just three more pages left in this album + the cover, and then we are back to working on the Flora & Fauna paper bag album. I have been covering the bags with paper & it is slow going, but I am going to be totally prepared by the time we start again!
Have a great weekend & week! I'll be back soon to tell you all about my trip!

New Video: Flora & Fauna Paper Bag Album Progress ...
... or lack thereof, depending on your view of things!
This past Saturday was the April 2011 Virtual Crop on The Beach & by all accounts it was one of the best we have ever had {if not THE best}, so a big thank you to Olga of ArtMingle, Inc. and everyone else who joined in and made it such a good time! For my crop project, I worked on my Kathy Orta inspired paper bag album with the K & Company "Flora and Fauna" collection. You can see Kathy's original design + some minor modifications of mine here: My Take on Kathy Orta's Paper Bag Album. To see Kathy's original video, click here: The Original Kathy Orta Paper Bag Album. She has a very inspiring nine part series on assembling the bags and decorating them with the Tim Holtz "Lost and Found" collection.
We had so much fun laughing and joking around at the crop this weekend that I only got one bag completely finished, but it sure looks pretty! I am a little bit in love with it, I have to admit. To see the completed bag {plus two super awesome new DCWV paper pads I picked up for $9.99 at JoAnn's on Saturday during the break between crops} check out the latest upload over on my YouTube Channel. You can watch the video below, or on YouTube by clicking this link: Paper Bag Album Update.
To see the bag coming together, check out these UStream recordings from the crop:
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four
Part Five {includes binding instructions}
So what's the plan for the rest of this album? Well, I have decided that it will be my next UStream project following the completion of the "Family Circus" album with the Graphic 45 "Le Cirque" collection. Once that album is done {and it is getting close to being finished!} then I will begin working on this exclusively. I will post YouTube updates once each bag is complete & I will show the bags "before & after" without and with photos, so you can see what this album looks like once it has photos and journaling in it. When I do the YouTube update for the completed second bag, I will show the first bag again with photos and journaling. I think it will be fun to see how an album like this looks both ways.
I'll be sure to post and let you know when we are starting to work on this album again, so you can follow along if you like! From this point forward, I will have all the papers inked and attached to the bags before I stream so we will just be doing the decorating {the fun part!} from now on.
