Seaquarium Mini Album, Part Two

Hi, everyone! Welcome back to Life on the {Scrap}beach!

I just uploaded Part Two of the Seaquarium Mini Album to my YouTube channel. I actually wasn't going to post this video until Sunday or Monday, but I decided to get it up early so it could be enjoyed over the weekend!

I've been getting lots of questions about which products I use in my videos, so I am going to include links for those who are interested in seeing what was used. I'm not promising that I'll be doing this for every video, but I'll try to at least do it for the videos where the supplies used are new{ish} and readily available in stores and online.

Supplies used: Most of these came from Two Peas in a Bucket
Corner Chomper Crop-A-Dile (We R Memory Keepers)
Precision File Set (Basic Grey)
5"x7" Tabbed Grungeboard Book (Advantus)
Snorkel Paper Crafting Kit (Cosmo Cricket)
Snorkel Ready Set Chip (Cosmo Cricket)
Snorkel Ribbon (Cosmo Cricket)
Background Papers Collection (Scenic Route Paper Co.)
Grafton Beach Chipboard (Scenic Route Paper Co.)
Grafton Label Stickers (Scenic Route Paper Co.)

Have a great weekend, everyone!

  1. I loveeeeee this album. I am going to lift this idea for our Universal Studios Trips. I will use the tabs for the different days we go. I bought annual passes this year and I have a loads of pictures.

  3. LOL, Maritza ~ thanks so much! I love your second post ~ so cute! :D I totally agree with you about this being a good format for Universal Studios. After I finished with it I really thought it had great potential for trips to Disney, Sea World, the Zoo & other places where I take tons of pictures, but don't necessarily want to scrap every single photo on a layout.

Thanks for watching & I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  4. Oh, I love how this album is coming together! Adding the extra photo pages is a brilliant idea. If you don't mind I may use this idea for a zoo album (with a different tab for each section of the zoo). As always I am so enjoying your videos. On another note I am pretty sure I watched a video you did of your scrap room but now I can't find it - please tell me I'm not dreaming, lol!!! Once again, thanks for sharing. Nancy

  5. Hi, Nancy! I don't mind at all if this idea inspires one of your projects. I think it's a great format for places like the zoo where you have tons of pictures. I plan to use it again myself, probably for a Disney album.

I did do a tour of my scraproom. You can see it here: Scraproom TourThanks for watching & I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  9. Hi Kathryn,

I like this grungeboard and have heard how it's so flexible and easy to work with BUT not acid free. Is that true?

I just ordered some raw materials for mini albums and I'm like a kid -- can't wait for my stuff to come so I can put some of YOUR ideas to use.

Can't find the album you used for the Princess video, though...I liked that configuration a lot and would like to use it for a graduation album. Where did you buy it?

BTW, don't know if I've mentioned this before, but one of the reasons I like watching your videos is because you clearly show the step-by-step of each project, unlike some I've seen that just mimic the steps and then show the end result. You truly do a good job with these. Here's hoping you never tire of making them!

  10. Oops...sorry, I just found it -- Scenic Route panoramic window album. Also liked the Grafton label stickers you used. You're such an enabler, Kathryn (LOL!).

  11. Hiya, Liz! I hope you're enjoying your weekend! Everything you wrote about rungeboard is true: it is flexible and easy to work with, but it is not acid free.

I've written before that I don't worry about acid free too much, especially when it comes to mini albums. {I am much more careful with what I put in my 12"x12" scrapbooks than in my mini books.} People have acid in the oils on their fingertips and hands. Because of the nature of mini albums to be handled & exposed, they get covered in acid, exposed to sunlight and other elements & basically have no chance of staying archival safe for long.

If I have a choice between an acid-free version of something & a not acid-free version, I will go with the acid-free version, but, otherwise, I really don't sweat it for my mini albums. That's just me, though! You can always lower the acid content of an item by spraying it with a buffering spray like Krylon's "Make It Acid Free".

You are correct, the album from the Princess series was the Scenic Route album. They are one of my very favorite scrapbook manufacturers ~ love their stuff so much! I am trying not to be an enabler. That is why I initially didn't do "haul" videos or include supply lists for so long, but I got so many requests for them that I will try to do it when I can.

My videos are just me scrapbooking. I liteally scrap exactly the same way used to, I just have a camera on my desk now. When I first started doing these videos I thought about doing them the way you described above, but decided against it. I didn't want to have two of everything {except for cards, since I frequently make two of each} and I wanted it to have a little more of a "hey, come scrap with me!" sort of vibe. Anyway, I'm so glad you like the format, and I hope to keep making the videos for at least a little while longer!

    Thanks for watching!
