Girly Girl Page

Hi, everyone! Welcome back to Life on the {Scrap}beach!

I just got done making a girly girl page starring my sister about a tea party we went to before I moved out of state. I threw a little a slide show together so you could see it!

Will there be a video eventually? Who knows! You'll just have to wait and see! MWAH HAH HAH HAH!

  2. Thanks, Marisa! I think I might have gone a little over the top with all the glitter, but I wanted it to be very girly! Thanks for taking a look & I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

  4. Why does everyone always accuse me of being a tease!? Honestly, it's starting to hurt my feelings, Jill! :D I am on my way to checkout your blog!

  5. Adorable! One can't have too much glitter & bling when it comes to girly pages. One of my planned minis is of my mom in the '60s (she was so hawt!!) and I plan to use UTEE, glitter, bling, and all that's shiny and girly. Looking for big blings right now, as a matter of fact. (You know, big girls need big diamonds!)

I'm like you. I've got a list of projects I'm eager to do. We have tons of photos from the 1940s all through the '80s that are slowly getting damaged in those old fashioned magnetic albums (you remember those?). I mean really bad stuff happening to them...it takes me a long time to peel them off so as not to tear, a really arduous process. So, I've been on this rescue-old-photos crusade, a fine excuse to buy supplies, don't you think?

Thanks for clarifying the grungeboard issue. I'll get me some grungeboard albums and the spray. I think the spray's a good idea anyway.

P.S. Heavens, I don't know why I'm so talky when I comment here. Sorry! I'm just so at ease "chatting" with you!

  6. Hi, Liz!

I agree with you about bling ~ can a girl ever really have too much of it? Scrapbook or otherwise?

If you are looking for big bling pieces, I have the best luck finding them in the jewelry or beading aisle of craft stores {not the scrapbook aisle}. You will need something like Glossy Accents or Glue Dots to stick it down since it is usually not adhesive backed, but the biggest pieces I have ever seen have been in that part of the craft store! And it's usually much cheaper than scrapbook bling, too.

Those magnetic albums are terribly. They really do terrible things to pictures. Have you had the problem yet where the pictures sort of "melt" into them? Ew! I have read on the message boards that UnDu works better than any other product to peel them up & it's one of the product uses listed on their website, but I have not tried it myself so I can't say for sure from personal experience.

Life's a beach. Scrapbook it.P.S. One of my subscribers {Jill} left a comment on another post {the one where you & I discussed the Binderie vs. the BIA} that she would love it if you would come let us know how you like the Binderie once you get it & have had a chance to play with it!

P.P.S. Don't worry about being too "chatty" here! I love "talking" wth everyone in the comments & I have gotten comments from several readers that they learn so much from the comments. And that's all because of the different discussions we are all having here!

  7. Yes, I love playing your videos while I'm scrapping myself. And what else does any other scrapper do during a crop - chat!!!
Watching and listening to your videos is kind of like looking at someones scrapbook...everytime you look at it you see something new.
If that's what you were going for you hit the nail on the head!

  8. My top ten favorite things to do at a crop are:

    1. Chat with friends
    2. Shop
    3. Eat Life Saver Gummies {my favorite crop food because they're sweet but not messy!}
    4. Shop
    5. Sing along to the music playing
    6. Shop
    7. Wander around the room and look at everyone else's layouts and projects
    8. Shop
    9. Go out for Starbucks
    10. Shop

Getting serious now {yeah, right!} to say that that is exactly what I was going for, Jill! I did want it to feel like an open invitation to my scrap room & it is so cool to hear that I am achieving that vibe!

Just a technical question: when you are playing the videos while you are scrapping d you choose one of the playlists, or have you made your own playlists, or do you kind of just go with the flow?

    Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Regarding crops, one of the ideas I am researching right now is to have a virtual crop with you guys! I have been working with my husband {he's an IT type} to try and figure out a way to do live streaming + chat. I have a webcam built into my computer & I think I could show my scrap desk if I turned my monitor around.

As soon as I can get it figured out tech-wise, we can all "talk" about a time & format!

  9. Wow, that will knock me right off my puter stupid chair...is hubby willing to fly to Dallas and teach me how to do something like that, if so I'm sooooo in!
I usually start out jammin with tunes then I usually get hit with a design glitch and I think "what would Kathryn do"?? and thats usually how I end up at youtube...lol
(And you thought that there were thousands of different people watching...hahaha...it's me, over, and over, and over, again...)heeheehaha -Seriously, you have walked me thru more than one glitch.
    Thx,

  11. I don't know, Jill, but probably not! I need him here to do dishes & stuff while I make videos! :D Once I get it all figured out on my end, I will definitely post instructions on how it will all work for you guys as well. I have no idea when this is going to be, but I am hoping to get it figured ou soon so we can maybe do it a couple times this summer {if people want to, that is}!

Thanks so much, Maritza! I appreciate your comments. I did film this layout coming together so there will eventually be a video ~ I just don't know when!
