Great video segment Kathryn! You are a wealth of wonderful ideas on using your supplies and stretching what you have. I love the idea of mounting your photos onto cardstock to make them easier to move around. That is an idea I will be using for sure. Love how you modified your letter stickers as well. Any ideas for using up leftover z's? I am enjoying this mini album a lot and you are doing a great job of hiding your frustration with this album on the video. Great work as usual. Thanks, Nancy
ReplyDeleteKathryn, when you first where referring to your husbands "half marathon" album I thought you meant the album that you just couldn't finnish :-) LOL. Well I see that there was a lot of detail involved, so "marathon" in this case does have a double meaning LOL. I can't wait to see the rest!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being this months winner of the GGS bonus kit ...... you deserve it :-)
Hope
Hi, Nancy! Thanks so much for your lovely comments! Letter surgery is something I perform often, as well as making photo strips so I can move photos around easier. A great use for a "Z" is as a capital "N" actually. It looks a little wide in some letters, but it works well with most fonts.
ReplyDeleteHope, it was both ~ a marathon album session about a marathon! LOL! I'm glad it was finally finished. Whew! Thanks for watching!

Kathryn,
ReplyDeleteI'm courious, how strong are those letters once they have been cut out? Are you worried about the handling of them once they are turned loose?
just wondering, ♥
~Jill
Jill, the ones on this album are pretty strong. I think that's because they're so large and then they're covered in papers. When you're making a book like this, use extra thick chipboard and choose letters or a font with plenty of contact points.

Kathryn,
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note to ask you to go visit my blog - I've made some homemade glitter paper and would like your imput, what you think?
Thx,
~Jill
It's the 2nd post (the first is to ad Bona's blog candy)
Hi, Jill!
ReplyDeleteI think that's a really great idea! It could probably also be done with a spray adhesive {like Krylon} and super fine glitter {like Martha Stewart}. You could even stamp with a glue pad all over and then sprinkle the glitter. That would give it a look like the Doodlebug papers. These techniques could make even cheaper cardstock look all dressed up!
