NEW VIDEO: 6"x6" Paper Challenge Layout

Hi, everyone!

I created another layout last night. This one is a 12"x12" layout that uses only the Pink Paislee "Prairie Hill" papers in the 6"x6" size. The only 12"x12" used was cardstock. I've been reading a lot on the message boards these days from people who are collecting these pads but not using them. I am a huge offender in this area, as well. In fact, I recently told myself I wasn't allowed to buy any more 6"x6" pads unless I actually started using them up.

I had an idea for a layout in my head, but I wasn't 100% sure it would work, so I used the three photos left over from my last layout to experiment with. So this layout also features photos from my sister's trip to the Lord of the Rings "Hobbiton" set in New Zealand. I arranged the papers in a sunburst pattern so that it looks like the rays are coming from the photos.

Here are some pictures of the completed layout. You can click the photos below to make them larger:

The layout was actually pretty simple. It's just a little time consuming to piece the sunray together. I watched Netflix while I was doing it, so I caught up on some of what's been happening in Mystic Falls, although I am still way behind in this series. Not sure if I care too much what happens to any of these characters, but it's a good show to watch while I'm crafting since I am only half paying attention anyway.

I filmed this layout coming together for my YouTube channel. You can watch the video below, or click the link to watch it over on YouTube: 6"x6" Paper Challenge Layout.

I hope you're enjoying your week! I'll see you tomorrow for more of the "Boxed Set" album over on my USTREAM channel. You can read more about that project here: Boxed Set Album.

I am live on USTREAM every Thursday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM on my channel: Kathryn Scraps. All times are Eastern USA. To convert Eastern USA time to your time zone, click here: Time Zone Converter.

  1. Such pretty colors to go along with you awesome photos! Love it!

  2. Love how you used the 6 x 6 pad! I have been collecting them, too. Great technique.

  3. Kathryn you are on a roll! I think getting your scraproom organized really motivated you to do more layouts and filming. Wonderful layout!! (cricutrookie)

  4. Very pretty layout, love the sun rays.

  5. I thought you said you were lazy? This looks like a lot of work :). Love the page.

  6. Kathryn - both of your last two layouts are ingenious (?) not sure of the spelling. Do you think we should start a support group for 6 x 6 paperpad hoarders anonoymous? Just a thought!
