Seaquarium Mini Album, Part Three

Hi, everyone! Welcome back to Life on the {Scrap}beach!

So, I just uploaded the third video in my Seaquarium album series to my YouTube channel. This is more of the 5"x7" tabbed Grungebook that I embellished with the Cosmo Cricket Snorkel line. It's definitely one of my favorite creations!

I've been getting lots of questions about which products I use in my videos, as well as requests that I post a supply list for each video. I haven't done this in the past because most of the time the products I use in my videos are so old that you really can't get them anymore. Since this album uses mostly new{ish} stuff, I am going to include links for those who are interested in seeing what was used. I probably won't do this for every video going forward ~ just the videos where the supplies used are new{ish} and readily available in stores and/or online.

I will also always be happy to answer any questions on any of the videos, techniques or products used!

Supplies used: Most of these came from Two Peas in a Bucket
Corner Chomper Crop-A-Dile (We R Memory Keepers).
Precision File Set (Basic Grey)
Clever Lever Extra Giga Scalloped Circle Craft Punch (Marvy Uchida)
Clever Lever Mega Scalloped Circle Craft Punch (Marvy Uchida)
5"x7" Tabbed Grungeboard Book (Advantus)
Snorkel Paper Crafting Kit (Cosmo Cricket)
Snorkel Ready Set Chip (Cosmo Cricket)
Snorkel Ribbon (Cosmo Cricket)
Background Papers Collection (Scenic Route Paper Co.)
Grafton Beach Chipboard (Scenic Route Paper Co.)
Grafton Label Stickers (Scenic Route Paper Co.)

Thanks for watching & I hope you enjoyed it!

  2. Hi, Brandy! Thanks so muc ~ I really appreciate it. This is the first album I've tried the "using pictures as pages" technique & I really like it! I will definitely be using it again!

    Thanks!

  3. Thanks for the positive spin on the flopportunities!!
Love the way this is coming out - I like the white "antiqued" edging.
    Another winning tutorial video.
I am getting ready for the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington, Tx starting Thursday a.m., I'm really excited because I have never experienced anything like this before.
    Have a good day,

  4. Ha, ha, Jill ~ I love "flopportunities!" Too funny! I do consider "mistakes" an opportunity to be a little more creative because I really do hate to reprint photos/redo pages. I will always try to fix it if I possibly can rather than redo it.

I have been to the GASC in Chantilly, VA twice. My biggest piece of advice for you would be to bring lots of cash & wear comfortable shoes! :D Have fun!!!

  5. Do the vendors sell alot of their products at these things?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Oh, my gosh, yes! It is like a giant scrapbook shopping mall!

Typically they are not selling their very newest releases {although sometimes they do}, but if there are older lines you liked that you missed the first time around or want more of, or lines that your LSS didn't get in, this is a great place to get them.

Also tons of tools & totes & dies. Spellbinders and Quickutz were both at GASC Chantilly last time I was there with some good deals. I remember Spellbinders had a "spend $200 on dies & gets a Wizard free" deal running. Plus online stores and LSS from your region will probably be their with their inventory.

The first time I went to GASC, I hadn't been scrapping for very long {less than a year} so I spent a ton of money. The second time I went, I was a more discriminating shopper and so I set myself a budget of $300.00 for the whole weekend {including crops, food, classes, etc.}.

  8. Thanks, Maritza! I really appreciate your comments & I'm happy with how the ribbon turned out even if I didn't plan it in the beginning!

  9. Wow - that is so cool! I have to ask. Did you speed up your video? Or do you scrap that fast??!?!?!?!

Thanks for posting this - I've promised a book for my SIL, and this is so cute!

  10. I just love how this album is coming together. Your pictures are so bright and colourful and I love all the photos you are incorporating. Are all your pics vertical or are some horizontal? It never seems that my pics are in the right orientation when I decide how I would like to scrap them! I love how you turned a mistake into such a positive accent in your album. I could take a lesson from this (enough said, lol)! Anyway, I look forward to your updates and am always excited to see one. Thanks. Nancy

  11. Thanks so much! Yes, I do speed up my video. Most of this video was shown pretty much double time.

Nancy, part of the reason my pictures are so bright and colorful was the subject matter, but my photo printer {Epson Photo Stylus R1900} puts out very vibrant and saturated photos as well. My pics are almost always taken horizontally, but I edit them in photo shop to make them vertical if that's what I need ~ I just trim off the sides until they are taller than they are wide.

  12. Hi Kathyrn,

This is really shaping up to be such a CUTE album. I was thinking about the LOs I made when I first took my son to the Shedd Acquarium (Chicago). I wish I had the mini album "itch" then...I could have done up a really adorable book like yours. Oh well, many, many more opportunities for photos and scrapping. I love that Snorkel line and I was looking through some old photos yesterday, thinking where I could use it, that's how much I like it!

Thanks for the Un-Du tip. I was at Michael's over the weekend and didn't find it so just ordered on-line. I have many, many more pics in magnetic albums that need rescuing.

BTW, have you used Diamond Glaze before? How about Sepia Accents? Just wondering if DG is the same as Glossy Accents (I'm a GA addict).

Mistakes? Oh please. I make a mistake on practically every LO I do. That's my primary excuse for buying embellishments!

  13. Hi, Liz! Thanks so much for commenting ~ I'm so glad you're enjoying the album so far! I am loving Snorkel ~ it's one of my most favorite lines ever, I think! I am also using it righ now on the mini album I am making for my husband's half marathon {which is destroying my will to scrap, by the way ~ I think I may need to set it aside for a while!}. I hope the UnDu gets those photos out of the albums for you nice and eay. I've heard it's like a miracle at unsticking things.

I have used Diamond Glaze before {in a class, I've never bought/owned it} and as far as I am concerned it is pretty much the same as Glossy Accents. HOWEVER, people in the scrapbook world seem to be divided pretty vehemently into either "Diamond Glaze" or "Glossy Accents" camps and the discussions on the message boards about which is better can get pretty heated! :D As for me, when this bottle of Glossy Accents is done, I think I will buy a bottle of Diamond Glaze intead. I am really tired of having to unclog my Glossy Accents applicator tip every time I go to use it & I am hoping Diamond Glaze will be better. I haven't used any of the other formulas in the "Accents" line like Sepia Accents or Matte Accents.

  14. Wow, didn't know glazes was a passionate subject with scrappers. I'll try the Sepia Accents for a pseudo-heritage mini I'm planning, you know, just to give it the aged look.

Should be getting my Binderie fairly soon and will let you know how well that works. I'm ever so excited!

Right now, I'm working on a garden-themed mini for pics when I had first planted my garden in 1990 and the years after. It is just SO MUCH FUN! I find myself thinking of this while commuting to and from work, while on break at work, when I should be working (just kidding, but close). Oh my, when the scrapping bug bites, it bites deep!

Chat with you later...sincere thanks for all your efforts in sharing your wonderful projects with us and giving scrappers like me much inspiration.

  15. Oh, yes, scrappers have very strong feelings about the strangest things! :D I'm excited for you to be getting your Binderie because I'm dying to hear all about it. I am sure I will feel the need to get one.

Your garden mini sounds like so much fun! It's extra special because you're using one hobby you're passionate about to chronicle your love for another hobby you're passionate about! :D

You're welcome for everything ~ thanks so much for commenting! I'm so glad to know I havesparked ome inspiration!
