August Trade Mini, Part Five

Hi, everyone! Welcome back to Life on the {Scrap}beach!

I just uploaded the fifth and final video of my August trade album video series over on my YouTube Channel. I hope my trade partner likes it!

Almost all the paper in this album came from the K & Company "Black & Ivory Fusion" paper pad. I got it at Michael's. Embellishments are from all over the place ~ my scraproom, Michael's, etc.

Thanks for watching & I hope you enjoyed it!

  8. Kathryn,
I loved this album so much that I went to Michael's and got some of those giant bling brads and that awesome Jolee's flower!!! Thanks for the "unexpected".

  9. Sue, isn;t that Jolee's flower the best!? It is so cool ~ between the metal mesh, and the shimmer, and the cluster of pearls, and the great layering I could hardly give it away. I need to get back over to Michael's a grab another one for me! :D

  11. Hi, Kathryn...what can I say, but that it's absolutely gorgeous. The overall look is elegant and any recipient would surely adore it. Great job AS ALWAYS!

Btw, finally bought a glass mat, the cheaper EK Success that's 9x12. I stick to a strict scrap budget each month so couldn't swing it before and thought it wasn't a necessity. Well, I'll be darned if it didn't make my scrapping easier! You're right about the craft knife just gliding through unlike a regular self-healing mat. Let me tell you...I'm about done with a mini of my son's summer and it has approx 45 pages. The "bones" of the book took me half the time to make because I'm no longer struggling with cutting the pages, the edges, etc. I wish I'd gotten this sooner! Now it sits permanently on top of my self-healing mat and I no longer have to change my craft blades as often. Thanks for that tip!

  12. Liz, Thanks so much for the complements on my album. She did receive it and wrote me that she really likes it, so I am very happy and relieved about that.

Also, I'm so glad you love the glass mat! Before I got mine, when I heard people talk about glass mats with reverence, I would kind of roll my eyes internally and think to myself: "How big can the difference really be?"

But it is a big difference, isn't it!? You really hit on the two main things for me: it's easier to cut and it saves your blades! And I kow instantly when the blade needs changing because it starts to tear the paper a little and I start to really press down. Then I change the blade and we are off and gliding along again! I definitely don't think I would do as much of the detail work that I do if it wasn't for my glass mat.

Your mini sounds amazing & I'm glad the glass mat helped with the creation! Keep having fun!

  15. Connie, I'm so glad you like the AMM "Tote-Ally Cool Tote 2" that you pikced up. I love mine and it is a huge time-saver when scrapping and packing for crops! The next time you go to a crop, all you will have to do is pick up the bag and go! :D Thanks for your lovely complements on my mini & have a great day!
