Hi, everyone! Welcome back to Life on the {Scrap}beach!
So a few posts ago I showed you a slideshow of a new layout I was creating: a completely over the top, sparkly, PINK layout! Now the video for part two is ready to share with all of you!
Thanks for watching & I hope you enjoyed it!

Great layout. I love how you make your pictures so large. What kind of photo paper do you use? Where do you get it?
ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you one more time for your videos. I made my first mini ablum this weekend and I think it came out pretty good for my first solo album! I posted a video showing it - let me know what you think. I did have to change it a little b/c 2yr olds and hanging metal objects...I guess not good, who knew! JK. I am happy with it and I don't think i could have done it without you! Thanks for the inspiration!
Amy, thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI love using several large photos on a layout ~ it helps me tell my story better, I think. I use Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster and I usually get it directly from Epson. I wait for it to go on sale, and then I buy several rolls to last me until the next sale! "Luster" is a finish in between glossy and matte in terms of shine. It has a sheen to it, rater than a shine, that makes the colors more vibrant than a matte paper without as much glare as a glossy paper.
You are very welcome for the videos! I am so glad you're enjoying them! :D It is true that a mini album for a two year old is going to have to be a little different than one for an adult, but I am sure you made it work beautifully!
I'm off to check it out now!

Gorgeous! I really like the various ways you use dimensional adhesives to bring some photos higher than others. I haven't had a chance to use the embossing/glittering technique yet, but I plan to scrapbook my heart out this weekend so I know that'll be one of the first things I'll do! Keeping in mind, too, your caveat about contaminating the powder.
ReplyDeleteBtw, Kathryn, have you used embossing enamel? I see this sometimes when I'm surfing crafting sites but have never used it. How does the effect differ from embossing powder?
Thanks so much, Liz! I love a dimensional page ~ I'm not a big fan of flat pages in my books! :D I hope you have tons of fun scrapping this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI've always thoguht {but am not certain, someone please correct me if I'm wrong} that "embossing enamel" and "embossing powder" are just two different ways of saying the same thing. UTEE {Ultra Thick Embosing Enamel} for example, just seems to me like larger pieces of embossing powder so it doesn't give the same type of look/coverage as the finer powders. But I could also be completely wrong about this!

Oh, dear...shame on me. I've been using UTEE for many years and heavens to Betsy, of course the last "E" stands for enamel. Hello, Liz!!! Ha-ha-ha!!
ReplyDeleteI love love love you videos. My husband is wishing I hadn't found you though. I've bought several things since finding them. One is my ATG gun. Oh my goodness I don't know how I made it without it. I have a question. Where did you get the mat that you work on? I love how you centered the title and think that will be my next purchase. Thanks again for all the work you put into your videos.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of the above. Thank you so much for taking the time to show all your awesome stuff. I've had embossing enamel for a while and wasn't inspired and now I am. Thanks
ReplyDeleteInspiration is all around us...
ReplyDelete(as long as we are on the correct channel on you tube, lol...hahahaheeeeheeO
~Jill
Liz, you are cracking me up! LOL! :D
ReplyDeleteHi, Lisa, welcome! Tell you're husband I'm sorry, but my husband is probably sorrier than he is! :D The ATG is the best ever, though, I have to admit. The mat on my desk in the video is a self-healing quilting mat manufacturered by Gingher and I got it on sale at a fabric store {JoAnn's, I think}.
Thank you so much, Maritza, I really appreciate your comments! I'm so glad that I helped you find a new way yto use a supply on hand! :D
Jill, just so long as that channel is MINE! :D No, I'm totally kidding. YouTube is amazing & filled with inspiration from some really amazing scrappers!

Of course its YOURS!!! And Lisa, I blamed my ATG on Kathryn also...lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by tonight - I've been having a TON of fun lately playing and getting inky fingers.
I love the glazed over glitter embossing powder tip, I've been experimenting with that one - I like it.
Have a great night.
